  • Witches Walk 2014

On Friday 24th October we had our annual witches walk and the turn out was amazing. Staff, parents and pupils all took part and the costumes were of the usual high standard. The weather was pleasant and everyone had a really good time particularly at the disco afterwards. Thanks to everyone who sponsored the event, we raised an amazing €1,583. We will now buy our school iPod and docking station and have money over to buy equipment for our life skills room.

Again thank you to everyone who supported this great event.

  • Kilcullen 5 Km Fun Run

    Kilcullen Fun Run

The fun run took place on Sunday 23rd March. It was amazing to see such a large crowd turn out to take part on what turned out to be a lovely day.

Whole families shook the dust off old runners and track suits and while those who were well prepared and trained  took off at a run, the rest of us made steady progress walking. It was a pleasant walk in good company.

Sincere thanks to Grainne McGrath and all her helpers for organising this event so well. All proceeds are shared between our own school and St. Josephs NS, Halverstown.

We would like to thank you all for supporting us by either taking part or donating prizes for the raffle.

  • Witches Walk 2013

On Friday 25th October we had our annual witches walk. All the pupils and staff dressed up as their favourite monster, ghoul or creepy character.

We were escorted by 30 Cadets from the Curragh Camp as we made our way around the school, across the car park, down past the senior school building and into the sensory garden. Here we were met by  even more witches (real and pretend, though it was difficult to work out which was witch!) as we made our way through the horticulture tunnel, around by the garden shed and back to school for a disco.

Skeletons danced with witches - a box of Daz came too

A pumpkin raced around the hall  it was a strange thing to view.

Pink and purple and green hair with pointy hats galore

Clashed with Fiona (where's Shrek) and Charlie Chaplin - as everyone took to the floor

Wizards, werewolves and Draculas, a tiger and a dog that could talk

All met with the army at St. Anne's for our annual witches walk

Sincere thanks to everyone who supported this event. Thanks to the parents and families who helped with the sponsorship and who walked with us and particular thanks to the Cadets who made this such a memorable day.

A special thanks to all the pupils and staff for turning out in the best costumes yet and for joining in the fun of the day.

As a result of all the efforts we have managed to raise enough money for an Apple Macbook for our IPad Trolley.

  • A new school year 2013-2014

Welcome to everyone as we enter into another school year in St. Anne`s.

I would like to extend a particular welcome to new parents and new pupils, we look forward to working with you and your families over the coming years.

This year will hopefully see the commencement of Phase 2 of our building plans. During this phase a two storey building will be constructed in the area of our existing sensory garden - this will ultimately become out senior school building. In the short term however all classes presently housed in the old building and prefabs will move into it. This will facilitate the demolition of all the old structures with minimum disruption to the running of the school.

As the Department of Education had originally agreed on a schedule of accommodation in 2010 - we decided to look at this again with the appointment of our design team. There were several areas we felt could be improved upon so we applied for additional accommodation to meet the needs of our pupils.

The Department are currently considering this and we hope they will agree that our needs justify the excess.

We look forward to a year of challenges, successes and growth
